Happy New Year! We hope that your 2008 is off to a wonderful start. To kick off the new year here at The Mosaic Project, we have moved into a new office and are hiring a new bookkeeper.

We've Moved

We have moved to 580 Grand Avenue in Oakland, right across from Lake Merritt. Our new office is big enough that now more than one person can be there at once without bumping into each other! We love our new home and are grateful to the many volunteers who helped us with the move. Update your address books:

We are looking for a 6 hour/week bookkeeper who is passionate about our vision and eager to support our work. Please read the job description and forward it to your friends.

Captain Your Own Table on March 1st

"The event was spectacular! I was deeply moved.
I was inspired the whole weekend and I still feel inspired!"

Many of you ask us how you can help The Mosaic Project. One of the best ways to volunteer is to become a table captain for our upcoming March 1st Community Gathering/Fundraising Brunch. Table captains fill a table of ten with friends, family members or colleagues they think will be excited about our work. There is no cost involved in being a table captain and no obligation for your guests to give at the event. However, it is our intention to inspire all the attendees and touch them so deeply through our presentation, that they will contribute very generously. Please contact by January 20th if you are interested in being a table captain.

Youth Leadership Project

Amani is interviewing students for The Kazan, McClain, Abrams, Lyons, Farrise, and Greenwood Foundation Youth Leadership Project right now! Here is a message from YLP Director Amani Carey-Simms:
"It's time! Our 2008 spring sessions, believe it or not, are just around the corner! Look in your phone, your address book, your classroom, your house, your neighborhood, in between your couch cushions....we'll leave no stone unturned on the search for youth leaders. We're looking for the compassionate, young leaders in your life who love to work with children and who want to cultivate change. If they are 15 years old or older and you think they would benefit from The Mosaic Project, please encourage them to turn in their applications immediately!"
